Blog SEO - For A Rank Beginner

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Make Blog

You’ve optimized your website why not your blog.

Picture it this way.

Each new post to your blog is fresh and new. I know you know this - search engines like fresh content.

I call it feeding the spider.

In this case the food is the new fresh content. What’s more appealing fresh fish or fish thats been lying around for a while? See my point? Fresh fish is always better, who’d stick around smelly old fish anyway?

The same with search engines, they like fresh content that’s updated often.

Even you return to a blog because of the new fresh content.Update your content often. The search engines like the fresh new content.

So, put a keyword or keyphrase in the title of each post and a few scattered out through your post and you now have optimized your content.

The search engines will love you for it!

Internal linking plays a part too. Ive done this myself and the results are the search engine spider crawls my site everyday.

This is a tip that is so simple and cost you nothing but more free traffic to your site.

Wayne Hurlbert from Blog Business World says,

“Blogs are optimized using the same techniques as static websites. Keep in mind that a blog is simply another website. What works in the search engines for other sites will also work for optimizing a blog”.

Great piece of advice.

The reward for the fresh content (food for the spider), the search engine spider will frequent your site more often.

Now don’t forget to link to your main site with your rich keyword or keyword phrase. Many new bloggers just starting out forget to do this.

If your site is theme based, your blog page or the many pages you have on your blog can boost your PR (page rank), so by starting to blog it will benefit you in the way of more FREE traffic.

I’ve only scratched the surface on blog seo but you can see it is another strategy in marketing you cant afford to neglect.

Believe me, everybody and his brother are talking about blog seo. The reason why? It WORKS!

To your blogging success,

Drug Rehab Chronicles - The Internet - One More Enemy in the War on Drugs

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Drug Abuse Info

People suffering from chronic pain sometimes need prescriptions for opiate painkillers. Unfortunately, some of those people are turning to the Internet instead of consulting their personal physician regarding what drugs to take, how much of them and for how long. As a result, some are abusing the drugs, and are becoming addicted. Instead of solving their pain problem, they now have a new one finding a drug rehab program.

Things have definitely changed over the years. In the past, when a prescription ran out you went to your doctor for a refill. When he thought it was appropriate, he took you off the drugs. Nowadays, with so many prescriptions being written for opiate painkillers which are highly addictive when the doc says no, the patient is in trouble. Unfortunately, instead of heading for drug rehab, he goes in search of other sources for the drug.

Many resort to “doctor shopping” going from one doc to another, sometimes faking symptoms - to get the drugs. And now we have the Internet. You dont need a doctor, you just fill out a little online questionnaire and youve got your drugs. There are hundreds of these Internet sites, called rogue pharmacies, and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) reported that a mere 34 of them dispensed nearly 100 million dosages of hydrocodone drugs last year sufficient to give over 400,000 patients a one-month supply.

The DEA says about 95% of the drugs sold by “rogue pharmacies” are controlled substances. Compare this to the 11% dispensed by legitimate pharmacies and it is clear that prescription drug abuse is a problem. It is also clear that someone is going to have to do something about the number of drug rehab facilities available if were going to handle it.

Joseph Rannazzisi, deputy assistant director of the DEAs Office of Diversion Control, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee and described how these doctors and pharmacies operate.

The websites find doctors who are retired or whose debt exceeds their ability to pay. If the doctor is seeking extra income, he can sometimes be persuaded to write prescriptions after looking over customers online questionnaires. The doctor is then paid for each prescription he writes. Then, the site approaches smaller pharmacies and persuades them to fill and ship the prescription to the customer. For a pharmacy that is struggling financially, the additional fee received on top of the cost of the medication can be enough to help make ends meet. These pharmacies keep the drug addiction alive, and the addict out of drug rehab.

Typically, legitimate pharmacies require a doctor-patient relationship in order to fill the prescription. Although Congress is looking at implementing legislation that would clarify laws regarding Internet pharmacy sales, rogue pharmacies are currently able to operate within the law.

Experts claim these sites are highly dangerous because they can, and do, fuel and maintain drug addiction problems. They are also concerned with violation of safety standards when drugs come from out of the country, but that may or may not be as big a problem as the potential for abuse.

Though it is unclear if the DEA will be able to control rogue pharmacies, one thing is certainly clear - as long as Internet pharmacies continue to dispense addictive opiate painkillers, there will be people looking for a successful drug rehab program.

Tips in Establishing a Homeschool Reading Program

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Home School

Reading is one of the most basic subjects that a child should take up during the early years of development. This subject is therefore important in creating a homeschooling program for your child. A good reading program for homeschool is crucial in developing your childs mental ability and school performance.

The flexibility in schedule and flow that homeschools offer provide a lot of benefits for children. Compared to the traditional setting, a homeschool program can tailor-fit the lessons according to the abilities and knowledge of the child. For instance, with a reading program a homeschool teacher or a parent can skip lessons that the child has already mastered like the alphabet and concentrate on aspects that the child has not yet fully learned.

Another advantage that a homeschool reading program provide is the fact that students can learn at their own pace without worrying about being left behind in the class or keeping up with the pace of others. One must remember that in a lesson plan, there are sections that will be easier to learn for some children but more difficult for the others.

Another aspect of a homeschool reading program that parents should incorporate into theirs is relating the lessons with practical activities and experiences in daily life. This means that learning should not only consist of reading books and reciting phonetics but should also involve practical and situational experiences such as talking to people, selling an idea, asking questions, and even reasoning or arguing.

One can also incorporate reading of dialogues with the use of different voices and intonations. Kids will not only learn from this activity, they will also have fun.

One of the disadvantages of a homeschooling program is the fact that it deemphasizes the social component of learning. Parents and teachers of the homeschooling program can supplement this by creating activities for your kids that will expose them to other people.

For instance, one can organize a small stage play where kids can read their lines and act their part. This is a good way to build their social skills and at the same time provide them with the opportunity to practice the skills that they have developed in their reading program.

Although this is not necessarily a part of the curriculum in most schools, it is also good to encourage your child to read books or to develop a love for reading whether it be books, comics or even magazines. This is the best way for them to fully develop their reading skills as well as build their vocabulary.

After leaving comments, put a link that directcs back to your website. Make sure youre not spamming anything. Make your comments reasonable. If you can do that you will receive not only traffic but good observe from SEO search engine sites.

3)Email signatures. When seding emails have your signature at the end. Your signature should include your blog address.

4) Get involved in forums. Pick a high-traffic forums and get on it. Your signature, just like the email one, should include your blog address. Again, do not spam.

5) Give away free things from your blog website. This is the method that I use for all my new websites. They are very attractive and people simply just cannot pass free stuff. People LOVE free stuff. If you do not have anything to give away, go to google and search for it. There are literally thounsands of them on the net.

If you follow those 5 steps, you will soon bring massive traffic to your blog. Remember more traffic means more money. Now, your 6th step. ACT NOW!!!

Why Are Homeschoolers Criticized

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Home School

Accreditation of the homeschool and loss of revenue are the biggest concerns of homeschooling.

Public school districts get money for each student enrolled and in attendance. Homeschooling is reducing their funds.

Some district superintendents are genuinely concerned that homeschooled students are not learning essential skills because they are not being taught by professional educators. But their opposition is based on the loss of revenue, face and stature.

Some districts support homeschooling but others take an adversarial position and try to intimidate the participants.

Most professional teachers refuse to accept the fact that the vast majority of public schools fail the students on every level, and deny that they can be replaced by uneducated “homespun hicks.” This concept is too humiliating to accept, so they justify their positions by criticizing the homeschool system. They try to discredit homeschooling by focusing on the myth that the homeschooled student lacks social skills and most often becomes a loner who cannot mix with peers. In actually, these criticisms are contradicted by the statistics that dispel these rumors and innuendos.

The vast majority of homeschoolers outscore their public educated counterparts in all facets of life and education. The deficiencies in social skills professional educators are so worried about are most often found in children who get “lost in the scuffle” and are not valued as individuals (obviously not the homeschooled child).

Homeschoolers have disproved these myths by producing students who excel on every level. If you are considering homeschooling, do not be intimidated. When you approach the public school administration do so with a firm resolve and knowledge. Statistics are on your side. You are doing what is best for your child.

Conversational Skills For the Home Business Recluse

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Networking For Business

You may be one of those business people who has the gift of the gab You can strike up a conversation with anyone, and find it easy to excel in sales by building a relationship with your customers, and quickly selling them your products and services. Youve been blessed with a good character, communication, and sales pizzazz! For the rest of us, bringing in the sales is not so easy. Not only were we blessed with every skill-set in the world except for communicating with our clients, but we have chosen a home-based business where we work alone, rather than in the corporate world where it is more of a necessity to converse with others on a daily basis. Due to the isolation that working at home can create, some of us lose the one skill that if we possess it, could make us millions or if we dont, could make us only pennies. Having and maintaining good conversational skills is the foundation for building relationships and a solid, successful business. Lucky for us, these skills can be learned!

A person with good conversational skills comes across as being more confident and competent, which can get them ahead in business. Customers want to do business with people they like, who are easy to talk to, and easy to get along with. Those without these skills may be more prone to rejection by customers who become uneasy with this salespersons lack of confidence in promoting their own products or services. If you cant answer your clients questions, they will likely go elsewhere. You dont want to lose sales like this. You want to be able to connect with your clients, draw them in, be friendly, listen to them, care about their needs, and entice them into purchasing a product or service that will benefit them in some way.

So what can the home business recluse do to get out of his/her shell? Practice talking and listening to other people, not only in business settings, but in your day-to-day lives. Make the first move in starting a conversation with someone instead of waiting for someone to approach you. Introduce yourself instead of waiting to be introduced. I know that sounds scary for some people, but as with everything in life, practice makes perfect, and those who take risks get ahead! So what if you are rejected? You will never build a relationship or make a sale in the first place if you dont take a risk!

One of the best ways to gain a new customer for life is by talking on the phone, or going on business coffees or lunches and simply chatting with your clients. This gives you a chance to really show them who you are, that you are real, and that you care about who they are and what their needs are. This doesnt have to be stressful if you go to the meeting relaxed, confident, and with a plan about what you want to say, and what to say when there is an awkward silence. When this happens, you really want to take the initiative to fill that dead air and make the client feel comfortable by coming up with something to say to help them get through the conversation. They may be even more uncomfortable than you are, so you have to take charge!

Some tips for easing into conversations with potential clients on the phone or in person are to start and end with small talk, use the persons name when speaking to them, make eye contact, use body language to show that you are listening, make a statement, ask a question, and smile! Show the person you care about what they have to say by asking them to tell you more, or asking them how they feel about this or that. If you remember that every conversation you have with someone is an opportunity, then you will be on your way to conversational and business success!

EMS - A Cure for Osteoarthritis?

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Arthritis Medicine

EMS stands for Electro Muscle Stimulation. In simple terms an electronic machine is used to stimulate the muscles. In more complicated terms it is a low voltage waveform, applied through conductive pads, placed at strategic points on the body, to stimulate muscle motor nerves.

Normally when we exercise the brain sends signals via the spinal cord to nerve sensors which cause our muscles to expand and contract. As we continue to exercise lactic acid builds up in and around the muscle and we start to tire.

An EMS machine works by applying a controlled signal to stimulate the same nerve sensors, causing the muscle to expand and contract. The increased blood flow to the muscles helps deliver the essential nutrients for recovery, speeding up the rehabilitation process. The work relaxation cycle of an EMS machine also facilitates the removal of lactic acid from the muscles, allowing them to relax quicker.

The medical profession use EMS machines to treat a variety of conditions in rehabilitation units with encouraging results. Most treatments are specifically for conditions which require muscle stimulation. They are most commonly used on people whose muscles have weakened after long periods of bed rest.

Osteoarthritis of the knee, a condition more often found in older people, is usually caused by general wear and tear on the knee joint from normal day to day activities. Sometimes it can be the result of some old injury sporting or otherwise. Knee problems are often exacerbated by lack of proper support to the knee joint by the surrounding muscles. The end result is deterioration of the knee cartilage resulting in more pain.

Strengthening the muscles surrounding the knee is key to easing the pain of Osteoarthritis sufferers. Health care providers usually start off by having patients work on strengthen their quadriceps (the large group of muscles which run along the front of the leg from the knee to the hip). EMS is introduced as an additional therapy, along with a number of other non load bearing exercises, particularly for osteoarthritis patients, to improve muscle strength. EMS offers great benefits for the elderly, who tend to be the most common sufferers osteoarthritis, as well as other patients with limited mobility.

Another benefit of using an EMS machine is the TENs effect some programs have. (TENs stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation where transcutaneous means through the skin.) Low rate programs usually between 2Hz to 5Hz with a pulse width close to 200uS encourages the release of endorphins which in turn gives pain relief that can last several hours.

EMS machines come in a variety of shapes, sizes and prices, depending on whether they are used for medical or body toning. Most machines used for medical purposes are small compact and portable and will have 4 electrodes, while body toning machines use multiple electrodes and may not be portable.

EMS is a treatment option for a wide range of injuries or conditions caused by or related to muscle weakness, as well as joint, tendon, and nerve injuries. It has also found a place in many other walks of life from beauty treatment to bodybuilding, often with some too good to be true claims. While no EMS machine will give you an instant six pack by sitting around supping beer, it does have a many uses in athletics, rehab and bodybuilding.

EMS machines should only be used on the advice of a doctor or other health professionals. They may not be suitable for certain conditions. Always follow the manufactures instructions supplied with the machine. EMS machines should never be used by people who have a pacemaker or have heart problems. Pregnant women should avoid using EMS machines as the affects on the unborn baby are not known. Never place EMS electrodes on your head or neck

Bill Morrison has his own website http://www.help4urback.com where he describes his own personal experiences and how he uses his TENs machine to provide pain relief. He also includes personal recommendations for people who suffer from sciatica or lower back pain on what books to buy and what web sites to check out.

Which Web Hosting Package Is For You?

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Web Hosting Review

There are many web hosting packages available in the online market today. In order for you to determine which web hosting package is perfect for you, there are a number of factors that should be considered.

FTP Access

Almost every web hosts provides their users with FTP access that will allow them to upload files as well as edit or delete content. This makes maintaining a web site much more convenient compared to web-based interfaces. Even if you are using a Linux system, you will be able to edit the settings of your file permission suing this FTP. Some web host even allows users to create FTP accounts, allowing you to restrict or allow access to the site by any person without giving out the details of your FTP accounts.

Email Accounts

Considered to be a standard feature in web hosting packages, email accounts are very important. Some web hosts give their customers free reign when it comes to mail settings but typically restrict the memory capacity of the mail boxes. There are also web hosts that will offer to set up your email accounts for you. Basically, there are four types of email accounts: forwarding, POP3, auto responders and aliases.

Disk Space

Perhaps the most important factor to consider when looking for a web host is the disk space amount. Depending on your requirements, you will have to determine how much disk space you would need. To determine this, you will have to break down the tasks that will be present in your site such as for emails, log files, web files and databases. Coming up with a rough estimate will help you correctly assess how much disk space you would require.

After determining your exact requirements, all you need to do is to look for a web host. Although there are many web hosting providers in the market today, finding reliable ones will be challenging. In some cases, a web host could charge you high fees only to be disappointed because the quality of the services did not meet your standards. July 6th, 2008 Posted in Networking For Business

Your business survives on active promotion and goodwill of your market and patrons. Besides delivering your promise and maintaining high standards in your products, your business needs to show your appreciation to those who patronize you throughout the year.

Christmas Is A Good Time To Say Thank You To All Your Major Well-Wishers

A business Christmas gift is a very nice way to say thank you to all those who have been your loyal clients in the past. Your business Christmas gift could be something fancy and expensive, or it could be a simple ornate card. Whatever you choose, depending on your budget, you should concentrate on making the recipient feel special and cherished. Hence, not only the gift choice should be done carefully, a lot of care should be taken in the way it is presented and delivered.

A business Christmas gift is also a very good way to promote your products, and good name in the market. If you have products that can be gifted, you could either make a small gift hamper (or a large one) basket and gift it to the clients past, present and future as a gesture of goodwill. Putting your name in front of your clients will bring you rewards all year long, too. Your products will promote themselves, because people love to talk about the gifts they receive at Christmas. In this way you can get some wonderful mileage and advertising done, while you are also wining the goodwill of your clients.

A business Christmas gift need not be only for those outside the organization. Those who work in your organization also deserve your recognition and a pat on the back once in a while. The internal business Christmas gift should be able to express the managements appreciation for the good work the employees do the whole year to promote the mission and vision of the company. After all what is the company without its workers?

The internal gift would be highly appreciated if it includes the family members. Hence, the best gifts would be something that the whole family can enjoy at Christmas time, such as chocolates, cakes, wine bottles, and so on. In this way you win the loyalty of not only your employee, but his/her whole family. Hence, before you decide on the gift, ensure that you give a good thought to it and choose one that will give the most pleasure. A very good idea when you are on a small budget is to give gift vouchers for toys for children. In this way, you have happy children and grateful parents. One stone, two birds!

Glass Sinks

July 6th, 2008 Posted in Kitchen Home Improvements

The newest additions to the family of high end bathroom sinks are glass and crystal. Glass sinks can be the best choice for those who want to turn their ordinary bathrooms into a stunning piece of art work.

Glass sinks seem to work very well in both traditional and contemporary bathroom and kitchen settings. Most glass sinks come in as vessel bowls, but they are also available in over-the-counter, wall-mount, pedestal, under-the-counter as well as countersink models.

It is a very common misconception that glass sinks are not durable. They are much more durable as anyone can think. Most of them can withstand temperature changes of about 20 degrees, and most of them are resistant to minor accident breakage, such as accidentally dropping your toothbrush or your plastic bottle onto it. It is true, however, that heavy objects falling into normal glass sinks will cause them to shatter. Tempered glass based sinks, however are more resistant, they can withstand the force caused by heavy objects: they might crack or break, but they do not tend to shatter. Laminated glass behaves similarly, but is more resistant than tempered ones.

Laminated sinks consist of an interlayer made of resin or tough plastic that are bonded together between two glass panes. They are sealed together, behave like one single unit, and looks like a normal glass. When hard object fall on them, they may crack due to too much pressure but the fragments tend to adhere to the interlayer so that they do not cause injury. Glass sinks come in a wide variety of designs, shapes and sizes. Some of the common ones are:

Textured Glass They are moulded into different shapes and textures, or bas-relief motifs at very high temperatures.

Colored Glass Glass sinks now come in various colors; the common ones include blue, green and red. These colors are usually achieved by adding some metal oxides and incorporated into the hot glass melt.

Frosted or Etched Glass These types of sinks have an opaque look. It usually gets transparent when it gets wet, but goes back to its opaque, frosted look when it dries.

Polished Glass These sinks have a polished finish so that the exterior looks very smooth.

Care and Maintenance Glass sinks might be durable, but it must be properly maintained to make sure it lasts a long time.

You should clean it with plain water or with a mild glass cleaner regularly and wipe the sink dry every after use so that water spots do not develop. If your sink is textured, make sure that you wipe the outside area regularly. Never use abrasive bathroom cleaners as they can scour or full the glass surface.

Do not ever allow metals, steel or other glass objects to come in contact with the glass as they can chip or scratch its surface.

Never allow boiling hot water to flow into the sink as it may cause the glass to crack.

Remember that once your glass sink gets chipped, cracked, or worse, broken, there is no way to fix or repair it like new.
