Inspiration
It is a very powerful word. We have used it through the ages to build and ruin civilizations, lives and ourselves.
And throughout our lives, we are blessed with moments of Inspiration. It comes in many forms and from many sources.
Sometimes its as simple as one spoken word.
Other times we have it right in front of us, and dont even see it. It can be nebulous, unformed yet still pulsing right there in front of us.
And it is a demanding taskmaster. For once Inspired, we have only one of two options.
Complete the task at hand, or resign ourselves to failure.
Yet, even in failure there comes more Inspiration. That is the nature of Inspiration. It appears even when we think we have been defeated.
Its what makes us pick up the task again.
For the alternative is desolation, and destruction of self. A Human without Inspiration is nothing more than a bag of dust, lifeless and dull, waiting to be emptied. And even then, there is Hope and Inspiration within the Human Spirit.
And for each of us a time comes when the chance to show your true spirit arises.
That time mostly appears when you are close to completion, when the edge of success is right before your outstretched hand. It has been Inspiration that led you this far.
Yet, even then, there would be that which would prevent you from reaching the edge. It has many names.
Despair, Fear, Rejection, Dejection.
It is at this moment that Inspiration comes to life.
It is the time to put hand, body and spirit into the task at hand, for the promise of Inspiration.
For Inspiration really is a promise. A promise to yourself. Its the promise of Triumph. It is the complete and total accomplishment of your self assigned task.
And even when you dont hit your mark, make your quota or just be what you set out to be, the flicker of Inspiration, like a small spark in the dark, will light up and set you off again.
I hope these words Inspire you to look again at something that you have put down, that once was a Passion or Hope for you.
Maybe these are the words that get you back on track. I hope so, for as I wrote them, they rekindled the flame in me.
