Being Against - Being Against

Each day abounds with choices - we are asked to be for or against everything literally from soup to nuts. However, I have found that the way to find true peace in my life is to be against - being against anything. I do have my preferences and I do believe in certain ideals and methods of madness. It has been more realistic to be "for" what I truly believe in than "against" what I abhor or dislike.

It seems in this world of black and white standards, it is more beneficial to work for what you truly believe in and are willing to stand up for then joining the masses and being against an issue.

If I am for peace, then I work diligently to get that message across, while I do not inhibit the peace of mind I carry by bringing in thoughts of hatred. I am neither pro-life nor pro-choice. I am for life of all kinds - from the womb to the tomb so to speak. Babies, children, adults, and the elderly as well as animals and other assorted creatures have the right to life, which I did not give them nor do I have the right to take away. This also takes in major issues such as capital punishment, euthanasia, mental illness, and dementia in the elderly. Being for life has brought many "good things" into my life, as it can for anyone. Peace is what we all are striving for, but what do we gain if we "hate" as much as those who "hate" and are in charge. We are continuously battling heads together to get more "hate" in. But when you take the stand of "peace", then you kind of stand alone against greed and improper use of power, so the energy in the world is more in my favor then it is in the so-called "hate" perpetrators.

While this may sound like a Mickey Mouse sort of class in mental health, it has really been a motivator and mover and shaker in my life and in those who practice this belief system as well. Not being against a certain religion, nationality, country, etc. only opens those huge doors to be "for" all humans who share this planet. A child is a child whether they are white, black, yellow, brown, red, or any color of the rainbow. An elderly person who has lost their mental capabilities to disease, are still so very deserving of respect and admiration for having traveled the road and walked the walk. So, by being "for" these individuals and not against those who are a bit "different", then the goodness of this great world of ours is channeled to everyone, for no matter how you slice it, we are all humans sharing a planet, resources, and the very breath we take. Just think that a breath that I inhale and exhale is also inhaled and exhaled by so many others in this universe. That by itself is a very sobering thought. ENJOY!
